The Micro-Inequities program Little Things Mean a Lot: How to Recognize and Defuse Micro-Inequities is a 1.5- to 2-hour training session that helps women and minorities recognize, name, and de-personalize exclusionary actions or micro-inequities and gives them techniques and tools for responding effectively to situations they experience or observe. The course is designed in a modular format for use in diversity network meetings or conferences, as well as diversity and management training workshops and leadership briefings. Research shows that exclusionary micro-messages are prevalent in all work cultures and are a major contributor to women's and minorities' career derailment. Though small and unintentional, these messages can add up and be discouraging over time, causing women and minorities to feel marginalized, scale back career ambitions, or even leave an organization.
