WFD strives to be a responsible member of the community and to reduce our impact on the
environment through ongoing business practices aimed at conserving energy and natural resources
and providing a safe and healthful workplace. Our employees operate under an environmental code
of conduct that:
- Provides a safe and healthful workplace.
- Conserves natural resources by reusing and recycling materials and purchasing recycled
materials.
- Minimizes energy and other resource consumption through increased efficiency and
conservation.
- Trains, educates and motivates them to conduct their activities in an environmentally
responsible manner and encourage them to further improve WFD’s environmental management
system.
- Continually improves established policies and practices aimed at reducing the
environmental impacts WFD has identified it can most control.
Our everyday work practices are aimed at reducing our energy and other natural resource
consumption and waste. We
- allow work from home to reduce commuting
- use webinars whenever possible to reduce business travel
- use sensor light switches in offices spaces, where appropriate
- evaluate all office equipment purchases for energy efficiency
- ensure office equipment is powered down when not in use
- recycle - paper, glass and plastics; toner cartridges; out-of-life equipment
reuse - paper for internal documents; donating out-of-life equipment; reusable kitchen items
- reduce - printed documents through use of email and scanning
- purchase recycled paper/supplies
WFD frequently reviews its operations to identify other potential environmental impacts as well as
to review compliance with our practices. Our staff are 100% in compliance with our recycling and
reuse efforts and 99% in compliance with powering off equipment and lights at the end of the day.
